Post-Op Instructions
Extraction
- Keep pressure on with gauze until bleeding stopped. Keep swallowing to keep area dry.
- No rinsing of mouth for first 24 hours. There after warm salt water rinses 2-3 times per day for the first four to five days.
- No spitting.
- Do not use a straw.
- Do not suck on the extraction site.
- Eat soft foods.
- First night brush remaining teeth with your brush and water.
- Take a pain med as needed.
- No smoking.
Risk of dry socket after two-three days, especially in smokers. Area is ok for the first few days then increasing pain. Please call the office for sedative dressing.
Restorative procedure
- Do not eat till numbness is gone
- Stay away from temperature extremes
- Chew on the other side for the first few days
- The tooth may be sensitive to hot/cold for up to a week. If there is no improvement please call to office to have the tooth re-evaluated
- Normal oral hygiene

Endodontic Treatment
As an endodontic patient, what should I expect?
Comprehensive examination to diagnose orthofacial pain and pulpal injury and determine if the tooth is a good candidate for endodontic therapy.
Non-surgical treatment to eliminate the diseased pulp. This injured pulp is removed and the root canal system is thoroughly cleaned and sealed.
Under certain circumstances, microsurgery may be indicated. We are experts in performing this procedure, and utilize sophisticated equipment to ensure the best result.
